August 12, 2008
OKLAHOMA CITY - Delaware Resource Group, a Busey Group company based in Oklahoma City, has received the U.S. Department of Defense distinguished "Above and Beyond" award presented by the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve.
The prestigious award is in recognition of the company's extraordinary support of and dedication to employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. Delaware Resource Group has 16 employees who proudly serve.
"We are honored to be able to employ many guard and reserve personnel. Our commitment to them to provide benefits that are above and beyond what is required is simply a way of our company to say thanks for the commitment they made to serve all of us in defending freedom," said Joe Temple, president of Delaware Resource Group. "I am humbled to be associated with a company that places premium values on service to our country and to our community."
As an employer, the company continues to pay any lost wages to individuals for 10 working days a year, they also continue to promote individuals while on active duty, grant raises while employees are on active duty, continue to accrue vacation, personal, and sick time. Delaware Resource Group also continues to pay medical, dental, vision, and all ancillary benefits while the employee is on active duty. The company has recently added an Employee assistance program (EAP) for employees as well as their families to access while they are employed and on active duty.
"Delaware Resource Group's steadfast support enables our soldiers to deploy with confidence knowing their employer stands firmly behind them," said Col. Henry Scully, Director of Military/Civilian Relations for the Oklahoma National Guard. "We consider Delaware Resource Group part of the total force in the global war on terror."
"Our team has the upmost respect for our guardsmen and reservists and what they are helping to accomplish in regards to our national safety," said Brian Busey, vice president of human resources and operations. "We feel it is our responsibility to support them by minimizing the day to day worries being away from their jobs and families. It is an honor to be able to help better their ability to serve."
Delaware Resource Group has 245 total employees and provides aircrew training to several military platforms as well as provides natural gas field services. The company was awarded the Patriotic Employer award from the U.S. Department of Defense earlier this year for its commitment to supporting employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.
