Busey to give commencement address at Riverside Indian School

OKLAHOMA CITY - Phil G. Busey, Founder and CEO of the Busey Group of Companies and member of the Cherokee Nation has accepted an invitation to speak at the graduation ceremony at Riverside Indian School in Anadarko May 27th.

Riverside, founded in 1871, is one of the premier American Indian grade schools in the United States. The school's enrollment represents 78 tribes from 23 States.

The school strives to give students a complete education that teaches them to expand their horizons while giving them skills to be successful in life.

“We are honored to have Mr. Busey speak to the graduating seniors,” said Don Sims, Superintendent of Riverside Indian School.

“Busey has helped the school and so many people of Indian Country,” he said. “He is a man who lives his life with great effort to live out his dreams.”

The Oklahoma Attorney is honored to speak to the students at Riverside.

" As a Native American and Oklahoman, it is a privilege to speak to young Native American students graduating this year at Riverside about education, career and their future,” said Busey. “They have a huge contribution to make on behalf of their people. They are carrying forward the proud legacy of American Indian peoples."

Over 100 students from Riverside will graduate 10 a.m. Friday May 27.
